We're Alan Lang and Philip Ousley, Charleston SC natives / co-founders of CINTOG Bodywash — a body wash line our families started to bring something a little different to the shower shelf: faith, family, and genuinely the highest quality ingredients.

The name "CINTOG" is an acronym for “Cleanliness Is Next To Godliness,” a phrase Alan grew up hearing from his parents — fitting, since he takes more showers than almost anyone we know, and has always wanted a body wash with a generous lather and amazing scents that aren't overpowering.

We're both devout Christians, but we'd be the first to tell you we're not perfect, only Jesus lived without sin, and even His closest friends were far from perfect. CINTOG is built on that same principle: faith and generosity without pretense, from two regular guys who love their families and want to build something that outlives them.

Phil and Alan's wife are great friends and both very much into beauty products, Alan's wife works in the beauty industry, and when she brought him along to a local product-development lab, he was hooked on the idea by the end of the day, his close friend Phil was quickly on board. We now manufacture every bottle locally in Charleston SC, we wanted the product made in the Holy City, on purpose. The line is cruelty-free, paraben-free, uses a gentle coco-sulfate lather, and each of our four scents — Vitamin Red Sea, Hyssop Bloom, Lavender Grace, and Palm of Galilea — includes added hyaluronic acid and a Bible verse to remind us of what's most important.

What makes CINTOG different outside of the natural ingredient / ultra lather formula is our giving-back model: 10% of proceeds on every sale goes to the Christian charity you choose on our site at checkout. 

Above all, this brand is meant to be something that reminds us all of what's most important, living for Jesus. We built the brand for our kids to hopefully take over someday, our daughters especially, who've helped inspire the ideas for the ingredients, the scents, and of course our "why" for the brand.
